Description
The Winchester Model 70 Featherweight Compact is a classic bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .243 Winchester. Built on the legendary Model 70 action, this compact version pairs a 20″ free-floating steel barrel with a recessed target crown, making it ideal for hunters and shooters who want a lighter, more maneuverable rifle without sacrificing the accuracy and smooth action the Model 70 is famous for.
The rifle wears a satin walnut fixed stock with classic Featherweight cut checkering and a Schnabel fore-end, giving it timeless looks paired with a comfortable grip. The brushed polish blued metal finish protects the steel receiver and barrel while delivering the traditional Winchester appearance. The stock is configured for right-hand shooters.
At the heart of the action is Winchester’s renowned M.O.A. Trigger System, offering a crisp, adjustable trigger pull for improved downrange precision. The 3-position safety allows the shooter to load and unload with the safety engaged while choosing to keep the bolt locked or unlocked. A 1:10 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of .243 Win bullet weights for both hunting and target use.
With an overall length of 39.50″ and a weight of just 6.80 lbs, the Featherweight Compact is comfortable to carry on long hunts and well-suited for smaller-statured or younger shooters. The 5+1 capacity and purpose-built hunting/target design make it a versatile choice in the field or at the range. This Model 70 ships without iron sights.
