The Wilson Combat 298B Beavertail Grip Safety is a High Ride series replacement component designed specifically for the 1911 handgun platform. Precision-machined from steel and finished in blued, this beavertail grip safety replaces the factory part to deliver a higher, more natural grip position with improved comfort and control.
The signature High Ride profile features a raised Posi-Release tab along the bottom edge, which provides a positive disengagement surface for the shooter’s web-of-hand while also acting as a tactile grip memory point for consistent hand placement. The extended beavertail shape helps eliminate slide bite under recoil and promotes a higher hold on the frame for faster, more accurate follow-up shots.
Designed as a direct drop-in fit for most 1911 frames, the 298B is manufactured in the USA by Wilson Combat and is a popular upgrade for custom and production 1911 builds.
