The Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 629 Hunter is a premium large-frame revolver purpose-built for sport shooting and field use. Chambered in .44 Remington Magnum, this Performance Center variant pairs S&W’s classic N-Frame revolver platform with a PC-tuned action, a chrome hammer, and a precision trigger fitted with a trigger stop for an exceptional single-action pull.
The 7.5″ barrel is constructed from stainless steel and wears a distinctive two-tone finish that sets this Hunter apart from standard production 629s. The barrel is topped with a ramp-style front sight paired with an adjustable rear sight, and the revolver ships with a red/green dot optic for fast, accurate target acquisition in the field. An integrated muzzle brake helps tame felt recoil from the powerful .44 Magnum cartridge, making follow-up shots quicker and the sight picture more stable.
The 6-round cylinder, frame, and barrel are all stainless steel, giving the Hunter excellent corrosion resistance for hard use in the field. Black finger-grooved polymer grips provide a secure, ergonomic hold and complement the two-tone stainless/black appearance. The exposed hammer allows for traditional single-action precision shooting, while the double-action capability is ready for quick follow-up shots.
