Description
The Savage Arms Rascal Youth is a purpose-built bolt action rimfire chambered in .22 LR, designed as a first rifle for younger and beginning shooters. With a single-shot action, a 16.13″ sporter barrel, and an overall length of 30.63″, it is compact and easy to handle, weighing just 2.71 lbs.
The barrel is machined from carbon steel with a blued finish and a target crown for consistent accuracy, paired with a blued carbon steel receiver. The 1:16″ twist is well-suited to standard bulk-packed .22 LR ammunition, making the Rascal an economical rifle to feed whether at the range or in the field.
Savage built the Rascal with safety and simplicity in mind. A thumb safety sits on the receiver, an adjustable AccuTrigger lets the rifle grow with the shooter, and adjustable peep sights keep aiming intuitive without needing extra optics. The single-shot design eliminates magazine management, and the action allows the shooter to unload without pulling the trigger.
The fixed green synthetic stock is set up for right-handed shooters, stands up to weather and rough handling, and keeps the rifle’s carry weight low. Combining safe operation, dependable Savage accuracy, and a manageable size, the Rascal Youth is a smart pick for introducing a new shooter to bolt action rimfire shooting and casual small-game hunting.
