Description
The Savage Axis II Precision is a purpose-built long-range and hunting rifle chambered in .243 Winchester. It pairs Savage’s proven bolt-action platform with a fully adjustable MDT aluminum chassis, giving precision shooters and hunters a high-value package designed for accuracy at distance.
This configuration (MPN 57550) is built around a 22″ heavy threaded barrel with a matte black finish, mated to a carbon steel receiver in a blued/black finish. The barrel is cut with a 1:9.25″ twist and is threaded at the muzzle for suppressor or compensator attachment, with a thread protector cap included. Iron sights are not installed, so the shooter can mount a scope or optic directly to the receiver.
Savage’s AccuTrigger delivers a crisp, clean release, and the rifle feeds from an AICS-pattern detachable magazine. One 10-round magazine is included for a 10+1 capacity. The right-hand action cycles smoothly for reliable follow-up shots in the field or at the range.
The defining feature of this model is the MDT aluminum chassis with an OD Green injection-molded polymer skin. This chassis offers adjustable comb height and adjustable length of pull, letting the shooter dial in a proper cheek weld and stock fit for prone or bench work. A polymer pistol grip completes the ergonomic package.
With an overall length of 43.50″ and a weight of 9.89 lbs, the Axis II Precision balances well from prone and off barricade, making it equally suited for long-range target shooting and hunting applications.
