Description
The Remington Core-Lokt is one of the most iconic hunting bullet designs ever produced, with a long-standing reputation as “The Original Controlled Expansion Bullet” and a proven track record on big game. This load pairs that classic projectile with the venerable 7x57mm Mauser cartridge, delivering a versatile hunting round well suited to medium and large game across a wide range of conditions and bullet weights.
Each round is built around a 140-grain Pointed Soft Point Core-Lokt projectile engineered for deep penetration and consistent weight retention. The lead core is mechanically locked to the jacket through Remington’s signature Core-Lokt process, producing a tough, controlled-expansion bullet that holds together on impact while still delivering the energy transfer hunters expect from a hunting projectile. Combined with a muzzle velocity of 2660 fps and muzzle energy of 2199 ft lbs, this load gives shooters flat trajectory and serious downrange punch on a variety of game.
The 7x57mm Mauser is a classic European cartridge with a long history of use on everything from deer and black bear to elk-class game. It is prized for its mild recoil, inherent accuracy, and adaptability to a wide range of bullet weights and hunting situations. Factory loads like this Core-Lokt give hunters a turnkey solution with proven terminal performance straight out of the box, while handloaders appreciate the case as a flexible platform for custom loads.
This ammunition is loaded with brass casings for reliable feeding, extraction, and reloadability, and is purpose-built for the hunting field. Each box contains 20 rounds, and a full case includes 10 boxes (200 rounds total).
