The Remington Core-Lokt in 444 Marlin is a classic American big-game load, pairing one of the most storied lever-action cartridges ever developed with Remington’s iconic controlled-expansion Soft Point Core-Lokt bullet design.
This current-production load drives a 240 grain Core-Lokt soft point out of the muzzle at 2350 fps, generating 2943 ft lbs of energy – serious authority for big game at typical woods-range hunting distances. The Core-Lokt’s lead core is mechanically locked into a tapered copper jacket, so the bullet holds together on impact, mushrooms predictably, and creates a wide, straight wound channel for quick, ethical kills.
Remington builds these rounds on reloadable brass cases and loads them at their plant in Lonoke, Arkansas. The bullet carries a ballistic coefficient of .146, holding velocity well enough to give confident performance in any 444 Marlin lever-action rifle.
