Description
The HSM Varmint in 22-250 Remington is a hunting-grade centerfire rifle load built around a 55-grain Sierra BlitzKing polymer-tipped spitzer bullet. The 22-250 Rem has long been one of the most popular varmint cartridges in North America, prized for its flat trajectory, accuracy, and hard-hitting performance on coyotes, prairie dogs, and other medium predators at extended range.
HSM loads this round on a brass case, driving the BlitzKing to a 3610 fps muzzle velocity and 1592 ft lbs of muzzle energy. The Sierra BlitzKing’s polymer tip initiates reliable expansion at typical varmint velocities while the spitzer profile delivers a flat, accurate trajectory. Sierra recommends a 1:12″ or faster twist for this bullet, fitting most standard 22-250 Rem varmint rifles.
