Description
The Hornady V-Max 5.45 Caliber bullet is a precision varmint projectile engineered for the 5.45x39mm cartridge. At .2215″ diameter and weighing 60 gr, this V-Max pairs a polymer tip with Hornady’s signature varmint design to deliver consistent initiation, dramatically enhanced expansion, and explosive fragmentation across a wide velocity range – straight-line trajectories and accuracy on coyote, prairie dog, fox, and other sub-50 lb predators.
The bullet is built around a swaged lead core encapsulated in a precision copper jacket, producing a ballistic coefficient of .285 (G1) and a sectional density of .175. The matching polymer tip seats cleanly into the ogive for precise, repeatable handloading, while the drawn copper jacket promotes reliable expansion at varmint-appropriate velocities as low as 1600 fps. Hornady product number 2207.
Each box contains 100 bullets (40 boxes per case). These are bulk reloading components – not loaded ammunition – intended for handloaders building 5.45x39mm varmint and predator loads.
