Description
The Hornady Superformance Varmint line is built for hunters pursuing fast, lightweight targets. Loaded in the 17 Hornet cartridge, this round drives Hornady’s 20 grain V-Max polymer-tipped bullet to a 3,650 fps muzzle velocity and generates 592 ft lbs of energy – a flat trajectory and hard-hitting combination well suited to varmint hunting.
The performance boost comes from Hornady’s proprietary Superformance propellant technology, which delivers a measurable 100 to 200 fps increase in muzzle velocity over standard loads. That added speed translates into a flatter arc and more reach across open terrain. The V-Max bullet’s polymer tip initiates rapid expansion on impact, and the round is engineered for accuracy across a wide range of 17 Hornet rifles.
Loaded with a brass case for reliable feeding and extraction, this factory round is built for both hunting and target use.
