Description
The Hornady Superformance line is engineered to deliver higher velocities than conventional hunting ammunition without additional peak pressure, and this 6.5×55 Swedish loading is a standout hunting option for one of Scandinavia’s most storied cartridges.
Loaded with a 140 grain Super Shock Tip (SST) projectile, this round launches a polymer-tipped, expanding hunting bullet at a published 2735 fps muzzle velocity and produces 2325 ft lbs of muzzle energy. The result is flat trajectory, strong down-range energy, and the reliable expansion that hunters expect from Hornady’s signature polymer-tipped hunting bullet.
The 6.5×55 Swedish — a classic European service cartridge that has been taking elk, moose, and red deer for well over a century — gets a modern performance boost from Superformance propellant technology. Brass casings are reloadable for handloaders, and the SST’s polymer tip helps maintain a high ballistic coefficient from muzzle to target.
