Description
Hornady Frontier Lead pistol bullets are cold-swaged and pre-lubricated for total uniformity and balance, sized for 45 Caliber / .454 chambers and built specifically for Cowboy Action shooting. Each bullet is a pure-lead 255 gr Flat Point with a solid lead core and lead tip – an all-lead projectile designed for the reloader targeting the moderate velocities of cowboy-action handgun loads.
Hornady’s exclusive knurling system is pressed into the bearing surface of every bullet, giving the pre-applied lubricant extra grooves to lock into so it stays put through handling, case insertion, and bullet seating. The result is a clean, low-friction projectile that drops straight into the case and shoots clean down the bore at moderate cowboy-action velocities without leading up the grooves. The flat point profile delivers a wide meplat for clean cuts on reactive targets while keeping recoil and muzzle flip manageable for fast, repeated strings.
A ballistic coefficient of .117 and sectional density of .177 place these right in the sweet spot for typical cowboy-action velocities. Sized at .454 diameter, they are intended for handgun cartridges and are not loaded ammunition – components only, ready for the reloading bench.
