The Hornady ELD Match (Extremely Low Drag-Match) bullet is a technologically advanced, enhanced-accuracy projectile engineered for competitive and precision target shooting in 30 Caliber / .308 applications. Sold as reloading components for handloaders, this 195-grain projectile pairs a streamlined secant ogive with an optimum boat-tail design and Hornady’s highly concentric AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Process) bullet jackets to deliver consistent, match-grade performance downrange.
At the tip, the Heat Shield polymer tip resists aerodynamic heating and holds its shape in flight, preserving the bullet’s sleek meplat for a high and consistent ballistic coefficient of .584 (G1). A lead core is jacketed in Hornady’s AMP jacket, producing a sectional density of .294 that gives the 195-grain ELD Match excellent retained energy at long range. Hornady recommends a minimum 1:10″ twist rate to properly stabilize this .308″ diameter bullet.
