The Hornady DGS (Dangerous Game Solid) line is engineered for the most demanding rifle hunting situations on earth. These are .505 caliber reloading projectiles – not loaded ammunition – intended for experienced handloaders building dangerous game cartridges such as the 505 Gibbs. At a substantial 525 grains, the DGS delivers the mass needed for straight-line penetration through thick hide, dense muscle, and hard bone on the toughest game.
The Dangerous Game Solid design pairs a steel jacket with a copper coating over a lead core for controlled, deep penetration. A cannelure provides a positive crimp reference for safe, consistent handloads, and the advanced profile resists deformation on impact. With a ballistic coefficient of .270 and a sectional density of .294, the 525-grain solid maintains momentum and drives deep through heavy game.
Each box contains 50 bullets, packed 15 boxes per case (750 projectiles total). These are new-production reloading components from Hornady, intended for handloaders assembling dangerous game rifle ammunition.
