Description
The Hornady American Whitetail rifled slug load is purpose-built for deer hunters running a smooth-bore 12 Gauge shotgun. Loaded in a 2.75″ shell, this round drives a 1 oz InterLock hollow-point slug out of the muzzle at 1600 fps, generating 2484 ft lbs of energy – more than enough to anchor whitetail and other medium-to-large North American game.
Hornady builds the American Whitetail slug around a tough lead-alloy core with a serrated hollow-point nose that promotes controlled expansion and high weight retention on impact. The compression-style wad protects the slug at ignition and helps cushion it through the bore, making this load a reliable pick for any standard-cylinder or improved-cylinder smooth-bore slug gun. The rifled slug is designed for use in smooth-bore barrels – no rifled choke tube required.
Manufactured in the USA by Hornady, these hulls are reloadable so you can stretch your hunting dollar. Each box holds 5 rounds; a full case is 20 boxes (100 rounds total).
Your purchase options:
