Description
The Haydels RL99 “Redleg” Mallard is a double-reed open duck call designed to deliver the natural sound of a hen mallard on the water. Built by Haydel’s Game Calls and hand tuned by professional callers, this classic open-reed design has been a go-to call for hunters chasing mallards.
The call is molded from tough, weather-resistant green plastic in an open-reed configuration with a double-reed insert. A double o-ring seal keeps the reeds seated properly, and the contoured mouthpiece sits comfortably against the roof of the mouth so you can run long calling sequences without fatigue. The double-reed open design makes the RL99 approachable for newer callers while still delivering the volume and rasp needed to pull birds in from a distance.
Specifically tuned to imitate a SUSIE mallard, the “Redleg” Mallard produces the classic hen mallard sound that draws drakes into the decoy spread, making it a proven waterfowl tool for the timber hole, the flooded field, or the marsh blind.
