Description
The Haydels GW01 Gadwall call is an easy-to-blow acrylic open-reed duck call built specifically for working gadwall. Constructed from durable gray acrylic, this call produces the characteristic “tat-tat” sound of drake gadwall along with the nasally quacks of hens, giving hunters a versatile tool that covers both calls to lure these often-overlooked puddle ducks into range.
Unlike a typical mallard call, the GW01 is tuned for the unique vocalizations of gadwall, an underutilized sound in many duck hunting spreads. The open-reed design is straightforward to operate, even for hunters new to calling waterfowl. Paired with a standard mallard call to first grab a flock’s attention, this reed call lets you “speak their language” with confidence in the blind.
A dedicated gadwall call rounds out any serious waterfowler’s lanyard. From late-season marshes to agricultural field puddles, the Haydels GW01 delivers the short, reedy “tat-tat” bursts of drakes and the higher, nasal quacks of hens needed to bring curious birds within range.
