The Federal Premium Vital-Shok TruBall is a 12 Gauge rifled slug load built around Federal’s proprietary TruBall system. A plastic ball sits between the wad and the hollow point slug, locking the components together so the wad centers and pushes the slug cleanly out of the barrel. That locked-stack geometry delivers 1.4 inch groups at 50 yards from a smoothbore shotgun, putting rifle-like accuracy on a conventionally choked barrel.
Loaded in a 3 inch shell carrying a 1 oz hollow point rifled slug at a muzzle velocity of 1700 fps, the Vital-Shok TruBall is built for hunting use. It brings serious downrange performance to hunters who want slug accuracy without dedicating a shotgun to a dedicated rifled barrel.
