Description
The Federal Premium Gold Medal line is Federal’s flagship match-grade centerfire rifle ammunition, and the GM3006M load delivers long-range accuracy and consistency in 30-06 Springfield. Each round is built around a 168 grain Sierra MatchKing BTHP (Boat-Tail Hollow Point) projectile, a well-known design favored in precision rifle competition, paired with premium brass casings and tightly held propellant charges for shot-to-shot consistency.
Loaded to a muzzle velocity of 2700 fps, this round produces 2719 ft lbs of energy at the muzzle and carries a Sierra-published 0.463 G1 ballistic coefficient, supporting flat trajectory and excellent wind-bucking performance out to extended ranges. The boat-tail hollow point design delivers predictable expansion characteristics where needed while maintaining the accuracy and consistency competitive shooters demand.
Built for target shooting applications, this load is well-suited to precision rifle competition and any discipline where 30-06 Springfield accuracy is required. The reloadable brass casings also make this a favorite of handloaders looking to duplicate Federal’s recipe with their own preferred components.
