Description
The Federal Game-Shok Upland 12 Gauge shotshells are a time-honored upland game load built for hunters who chase pheasants, quail, grouse, doves, rabbits, and squirrels across field and forest. The H1218 is part of Federal’s long-running Game-Shok upland line and ships a 1 oz payload of 8 lead shot at 1290 fps in a 2.75″ low-brass plastic-hulled shell.
Designed for upland bird hunting, this lead 1 oz charge is well-suited for close to medium-range shots on flushing birds, where pattern density and quick payload delivery matter more than heavy pellet energy. The classic 8 shot size is a traditional pick for quail, doves, woodcock, and early-season pheasants, and the 1 oz shot weight keeps recoil manageable through a full afternoon of walking the cover. The 12-gauge, 2.75-inch shell length keeps this load compatible with virtually every modern and vintage 12-gauge field shotgun on the market.
Federal builds these shells with quality lead shot, consistent powder charges, and a plastic hull with a low brass base that feeds and ejects cleanly through pump-action, semi-auto, and over-and-under upland guns. At 1290 fps, the load carries enough velocity to maintain dense patterns on flushing birds without the punishing recoil of heavier 1-1/8 oz or 1-1/4 oz upland loads.
