Description
The CCI Pest Control Shotshell in .45 ACP is a specialty handgun cartridge designed for close-range pest control. Each round loads a rigid plastic shot capsule filled with 9 shot into a lightweight aluminum case, with a flexible base wad that seals against gas blow-by so the capsule stays intact down the bore and breaks apart on the rifling. The result is a tight, controlled pattern out of a 45 ACP pistol or revolver for putting down rats, snakes, and other small vermin without the over-penetration of a conventional slug.
The round carries a 120 grain payload and launches at 1100 fps for 322 ft lbs of muzzle energy, making this 45 ACP shotshell a smart addition to any ranch, farm, or homestead range kit where a handgun is the most practical tool for the job. Loaded by CCI specifically for hunting and target applications, the Pest Control Shotshell bridges the gap between a defensive handgun cartridge and a small-game round.
