Description
The Berger VLD Hunting bullet in 30 Caliber (.308) weighs 210 grains and is built around Berger’s proven Very Low Drag profile – a boat-tail base paired with a secant ogive nose that has long set the benchmark for external ballistic efficiency. Part of Berger’s Long Range line, this projectile is purpose-built for handloaders who chase flat trajectory and consistent downrange performance.
The VLD Hunting is the hunting-specific version of Berger’s match-grade VLD Target bullet. It uses a copper jacket over a lead core engineered to open up on impact. The design is intended to penetrate 2-3 inches into the vitals and then begin expanding, creating a massive wound cavity up to 15 inches through hydrostatic shock – giving long-range hunters a one-shot terminal package on medium and big game.
A ballistic coefficient of .631 and sectional density of .316 give the 210-grain VLD Hunting the energy retention and trajectory handloaders want past 500 yards. Overall bullet length is 1.47 in, with no cannelure, a copper jacket, and a lead core. Recommended use is hunting in rifle applications, particularly where longer, harder shots are the norm.
Each box contains 100 projectiles from Berger Bullets – bullet components only (no brass case, primer, or powder), ready to load on your handloading bench.
