The Barnes Bullets VOR-TX Handgun load in .44 Rem Mag pairs Barnes’ renowned all-copper bullet technology with a 225 grain expanding bullet engineered for deep, controlled expansion on big game. Loaded to a muzzle velocity of 1300 fps and producing 845 ft lbs of muzzle energy, this round is built for handgun hunters pursuing deer, hogs, and similar medium-to-large game, while also serving as a formidable defensive load for magnum revolvers.
At the core of every VOR-TX Handgun round is the Barnes XPB, a lead-free all-copper expanding point bullet designed to expand to roughly double its original diameter while retaining nearly all of its mass. The result is a deep, straight wound channel with complete penetration and no fragmented lead core to deflect off bone. Because the XPB is a homogeneous copper construction, it is also a strong choice where lead projectiles are restricted or undesirable.
