Description
The Hornady Subsonic line of ammunition is purpose-built for shooters who want quiet, accurate performance from suppressed 45 ACP handguns. Loaded with a heavy 230 gr Hornady XTP (eXtreme Terminal Performance) hollow point, this subsonic load keeps muzzle velocity at 925 fps so the bullet stays well below the speed of sound, eliminating the supersonic crack while still putting 437 ft lbs of energy on target.
The XTP bullet features a gilding metal jacket with long grooves that initiate controlled expansion even at subsonic velocities. This jacket wraps a precision hollow-point cavity, giving consistent feeding from a wide range of 45 ACP pistols and reliable terminal performance in the field.
Each round is loaded in a brass case for reliable ignition, smooth feeding, and reloadability. Designed for accuracy and performance below the speed of sound, Hornady Subsonic ammunition is a proven choice for suppressed shooting and hunting applications.
