The Smith & Wesson Model 586 Classic revives one of S&W’s most iconic L-frame double-action revolvers in a modern CA Compliant configuration. Built around a rugged carbon steel frame and cylinder finished in a classic blued finish, this revolver is chambered for .357 Magnum and also safely accepts .38 S&W Special +P ammunition. The 6-shot cylinder is sized for personal protection and sport shooting, making it a great fit for revolver enthusiasts who want the timeless look and feel of a classic Smith & Wesson double-action revolver.
At the front of the 6″ barrel sits a red ramp front sight, paired with an adjustable white outline rear sight for fast target acquisition and precise shot placement. The single-action/double-action mechanism is driven by an exposed hammer, and the square butt L-frame is topped with classic wood grips inset with the signature S&W medallions. The carbon steel L-frame is rated for sustained use with .357 Magnum pressures, with a 46.30 oz carry weight and an 11.30″ overall length.
Whether you are looking for a personal protection revolver, a sporting gun, or a six-shooter to put hard rounds downrange at the range, the Model 586 Classic delivers the look, feel, and performance of Smith & Wesson’s classic L-frame revolvers in current production. The 6-round capacity, exposed-hammer DA/SA action, and timeless blued-and-wood aesthetic make it a standout addition to any Smith & Wesson collection.
