Description
The Harris No. 5 handguard adapter is a dedicated mounting solution that allows a Harris swivel-stud bipod to clamp directly onto the standard round handguard of an AR-15 or M16 without any gunsmithing or permanent modification. It is the factory-specified adapter for Colt, Bushmaster, ArmaLite, and other AR-15 pattern rifles equipped with the classic round A2-style handguard and will not fit the older triangular handguard profile.
The adapter is built around a steel clamp body in a black anodized finish, paired with the necessary mounting hardware. A rectangular washer, a quick-detach (Q.D.) stud, and an included sling swivel ship with the unit so the rifle can be set up for both bipod use and a traditional sling without buying additional parts.
Installation is straightforward: the clamp wraps around the round handguard and is tightened in place, after which a Harris bipod equipped with a swivel stud can be attached or removed instantly via the Q.D. stud.
