Description
The Taurus Judge Public Defender packs the versatility of the original Judge into a scaled-down, easy-to-carry revolver. Chambered for both .45 Colt (Long Colt) and .410 Bore shotshells, this snub-nose revolver lets you swap between traditional magnum cartridges and 2-1/2″ .410 shotshells without changing firearms, making it a flexible pick for personal protection and sport shooting at close range.
Built around a small-frame layout, the Public Defender features a matte stainless steel frame, cylinder, and barrel, a compact 2″ barrel, and an overall length of 7.75″. It weighs 28 oz, light enough for everyday carry yet substantial enough to handle .410 recoil comfortably. The matte stainless finish delivers corrosion resistance and a low-glare surface in any environment.
Operation is straightforward DA/SA with an exposed hammer for single-action precision when wanted and a transfer bar safety for safer carry. A red fiber optic front sight pairs with a fixed rear sight for fast target acquisition in varied lighting. The black Ribber grip provides a secure, slip-resistant hold even under recoil.
As part of the Judge Public Defender line, this revolver carries Taurus’s dual-purpose defensive handgun design. Whether you load .410 shot for close-quarters confidence or .45 Colt for traditional stopping power, the Public Defender delivers the same game-changing capability as the original Judge in a smaller, more portable package.
