Description
The Timney Triggers 662S Targa Short is a two-stage, curved drop-in replacement trigger purpose-built for the AR-15 platform. Designed for shooters who prefer a shorter first stage take-up, the “Short” variant of Timney’s acclaimed Targa line is identified by its distinctive Black/Red finish on the aluminum alloy housing, which differentiates it from the Blue (Long) version with its longer first stage pull.
The Targa Short delivers a 2+2 lb total pull weight, with roughly 2 lbs of first-stage take-up followed by an additional 2 lbs of pull to release. The result is a remarkably smooth, crisp two-stage break well-suited to precision shooting applications. Internally, Timney pairs steel components – including a hammer cut via wire-EDM – with a lightweight aluminum alloy housing for the durability and consistency Timney triggers are known for.
Installation is straightforward: the 662S arrives as a 100% self-contained, drop-in unit, ready to install in your AR-15 lower receiver with no permanent modifications required. Backed by Timney’s reputation for quality, the Targa Short is one of the most respected aftermarket upgrade triggers available for the AR-platform.
