Description
The Hornady V-Max is a high-performance .22 Caliber varmint bullet engineered to deliver dramatic expansion and explosive fragmentation on small game and predators. Each bullet measures .224″ in diameter and weighs 53 grains, built around a lead core encapsulated in a precision copper gilding metal jacket and crowned with the signature polymer tip that defines the V-MAX line.
The pointed polymer tip does double duty: it raises the ballistic coefficient to .290 for a flatter trajectory and truer flight, and it reliably initiates dramatic fragmentation on impact, even at velocities as low as 1600 fps. Combined with a sectional density of .151, the result is a bullet that shoots flat, hits hard, and comes apart cleanly on varmints. The V-MAX is a proven choice for handloaders building varmint rifle loads in any .224″ diameter cartridge.
This listing is for a 100-count box of Hornady part number 22265 V-MAX bullets, with 40 boxes per case available for high-volume reloaders. The bullet is designed for rifle applications and is finished without a cannelure. Whether you are dialing in a coyote load or pushing a prairie dog round to its limits, the Hornady V-MAX is a go-to projectile for serious varmint shooters.
