The Remington Ammunition Core-Lokt load in 338 Win Mag continues the legacy of one of the most effective hunting bullets ever developed. Originally introduced in 1939, the Core-Lokt is the original controlled-expansion bullet, built around a progressively tapered copper jacket locked to a solid lead core to deliver reliable 2X expansion and excellent weight retention on game.
This specific load fires a 250 grain Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point (PSP) bullet at a muzzle velocity of 2660 fps, producing 3927 ft lbs of muzzle energy. The pointed soft-point profile combines the controlled expansion of the original Core-Lokt with a more streamlined shape for improved ballistic coefficients and flatter trajectories at longer ranges, making it a strong choice for hunting applications.
Each cartridge is loaded in brass casings and built around Remington’s centerfire hunting recipe. The ammunition is current production and factory-fresh, intended for hunting and target use.
